Cheshire 10k

It’s not just Marathons that Wigan Harriers have been running this spring. On the weekend of Manchester Marathon a small group of Harriers were taking on Cheshire 10k at Arley Hall near Warrington. Here’s a few words from Kelly-Anne Towns on how she got on.

There’s not much to report on the race; the fast, flat billing was true and the weather conditions were almost perfect. No excuses not to get a PB on that course so that’s what we went and did! My previous PB was 46.10 from many moons ago and I was happy with my official 44.06 although only got my chip time afterwards so that 6 seconds can go next time!

Stuart knocked just over a minute off his which was earned on the same course 18 months ago in the autumn version of that race; although at 5k was on for a sub-40 so he knows where to put the work in now. He did 40.22.

Didn’t see Rich (except for a short glimpse in the distance) or Danny so I don’t know what they thought of the race but it’s a nice location, well organised and with a limit of 1500 you get a great mix of club runners, fun-runners and lots in between! A definite PB course.
