This Saturday sees arguably the biggest cross country fixture of the season as the British Athletics Cross Challenge visits Sefton Park in Liverpool. Some of the leading names in Cross Country will be battling it out with qualification for the European Cross Country Championships in Bulgaria up for grabs. Andy Vernon , 10,000 metre silver medallist at the European Championships behind Mo Farah, starts as favourite after winning here last year and going on to grab Bronze in the final in Belgrade. In the Womens race is a Bronze medallist from the European final in the form of Gemma Steel.
For Harriers, the event also acts as round 3 in the Mid Lancs series and competition will be no less fierce amongst local clubs chasing championship points at this flagship event. We are expecting a full turn out from all our teams from the Juniors through to the Seniors to build on our great start to the 2014/15 campaign. If you are unsure if you have a number or an entry sorted and want to run speak to Jacqui Jones on Thursday evening. Spare vests are available!
The Senior Womens race stars at 1:20pm with the massed start of the mens race going off at 2pm. This is a not to be missed event for runners of all abilities.!
